LMC 8.4 R9 APK Download: Files & Release Notes

R9 expands the TEST and LDR patchers and the range of clarity, contrast and smoothness controls. It also updates built-in configs and corrects Live Photo resolution and Pixel 6 interface video behavior. Its main value today is reproducing an older, device-specific setup.

Documented changes

  • TEST and LDR patcher options were expanded, with wider clarity, contrast, and smoothing ranges.
  • Live Photo controls and stream sessions were added.
  • Translations, video behavior, noise presets, Live Photo resolution, animations, and performance received corrections; built-in configs were updated.

Configuration and known limits

  • No external config index is linked directly on this release page.
  • The default package ID ends in r7 even though this is R9; retain the source's exact identifier.

The main catalog separates the R15 and R16+ config indexes. For this historical build, follow the exact release source and its notes; a modern XML listing is not proof it works on this release.

Install and test this build

Export existing settings before replacing an app with the same package ID. Install one variant, confirm default camera operation, then load a matched XML and test each lens separately. See APK installation, XML import, and crash diagnosis.

When does R9 make sense?

A reason to try it

Match a change to your need

Your config author explicitly targets R9 or you are testing its listed corrections.

A reason to keep your current setup

A working camera is a useful baseline

Your current release is reliable; an older release number alone offers no reason to downgrade.

What to check when you switch

  1. Keep a copy of the working XML and APK filename.
  2. Test video after selecting your interface.
  3. Confirm that Live Photo capture saves at the intended resolution.
Config detail that matters

Updated built-in configs do not establish that a random R18 XML is compatible with R9.

R9 questions answered

Why does the default package name end in r7?

The R9 source actually lists com.camera.lmc84r7. A package identifier is not the release filename.

Which external config page does R9 link?

Its release page does not provide one; it says built-in configs were updated.

Does it include Scan3D?

The R9 list has default, Snapcam and Samsung/Ruler files, without a Scan3D file.
